The 2025 Golden Panda International Cultural Forum opened in Chengdu, capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province, on Saturday, bringing together Chinese and international guests for an exchange of ideas on culture and civilization.
Themed on "Harmony in Diversity, A Future in Unity," the forum is one of the main events of the second Golden Panda Awards, which was held in the city from Friday to Saturday.
Attendees said that the diversity of civilizations is the essence of the world, and that mutual learning is both a fundamental requirement for their development and a key driver of human progress and global peace.
They emphasized that addressing common challenges and building a better future cannot be achieved without the power of culture and civilization. It is important, they noted, to uphold and promote the shared values of humanity, advance the Global Civilization Initiative, and encourage different civilizations to learn from one another, complement each other, and flourish together on the basis of equality and mutual respect.
They also called for deeper international people-to-people exchanges and cooperation in education, science and technology, culture, and media, in order to foster greater cultural integration and closer bonds among nations.
The second Golden Panda Awards will present 27 awards across four categories: film, TV drama, animation and documentary. The event has drawn many global film and television organization representatives, directors, actors and cultural experts.
