SURABAYA, Indonesia, Sept. 26, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Tourism Malaysia, in collaboration with the Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC), proudly presents Malaysia Fair 2025—a four-day celebration of Malaysia's culture, cuisine, tourism, and healthcare excellence. Taking place at Pakuwon Mall, Surabaya from 25 to 28 September 2025, the event marks the first-ever partnership between Tourism Malaysia and MHTC in support of Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) and the Malaysia Year of Medical Tourism 2026 (MYMT2026) campaigns.

Malaysia Fair 2025 positions Malaysia as both a premier leisure destination and a leading medical tourism hub, offering visitors an immersive experience through exclusive holiday packages, premier healthcare services, and vibrant cultural showcases—all under one roof.

For the fifth time in Surabaya, MHTC is bringing its world-class healthcare and wellness showcases to the city, featuring Malaysia's most awarded healthcare facilities and integrated care packages. Participating hospitals include four (4) Flagship Medical Tourism Hospital (FMTH) finalists such as Institut Jantung Negara (IJN), Island Hospital, Mahkota Medical Centre, and Subang Jaya Medical Centre, alongside Alpha IVF & Women's Specialists, ALPS Medical Centre, Cardiac Vascular Sentral Kuala Lumpur (CVSKL), Gleneagles Hospital Penang, Gleneagles Hospital Kuala Lumpur, KPJ Healthcare Berhad, MSU Medical Centre, Northern Heart Hospital Penang, OPTIMAX Eye Specialist Centre, Penang Adventist Hospital, Prince Court Medical Centre, Sunway Medical Centre, Sunway Medical Centre Penang, Thomson Hospital Kota Damansara, and Topvision Eye Specialist Centre.

Beyond healthcare, the fair also offers an exciting line-up of cultural and lifestyle experiences. Visitors can enjoy captivating performances by Malaysia's Teh Tarik King, traditional dance showcases, and interactive family-friendly activities. Malaysia's leading universities will also participate, including Todak Academy, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), UCSI University, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), presenting attractive education opportunities, exclusive travel packages, and special promotions.

Adding a culinary highlight, Tourism Malaysia and Marriott International present a Malaysian Food Promotion at Magnolia Restaurant, The Westin Surabaya, from 26 to 28 September 2025. The showcase features signature dishes prepared by a guest chef from Penang Marriott Hotel, giving Indonesian diners the opportunity to savour Malaysia's diverse gastronomy.

"Being in a multi-racial country, Malaysians are very fortunate to enjoy the many different foods and cultures brought about by our diversity. Food is indeed part of our identity, and eating is one of Malaysians' favourite pastimes. Thus, gastronomy can be a strong selling point to promote our country," said Mr. Hairi Mohd Yakzan, Director of Tourism Malaysia Jakarta.

Malaysia Fair 2025 also celebrates the close ties between Indonesia and Malaysia, serving as a platform for cultural exchange and fostering stronger people-to-people connections. "Malaysia Fair 2025 is an immersive showcase of the very best that Malaysia has to offer. This year's first-time collaboration with MHTC allows us to broaden our appeal, combining the allure of cultural and leisure travel with the trust and prestige of Malaysia's healthcare services," added Mr. Hairi.

Echoing this, Mr. Lokman Izam Abd Aziz, Vice President of Marketing & Communications at MHTC, said: "Through our new tagline Healing Meets Hospitality, we are excited to showcase Malaysia's unique offerings as a healthcare destination. Beyond treatments, Malaysia is a place where you can truly heal your mind, body, and soul, comforted by both our medical and tourism experiences."

Malaysia continues to be a preferred destination for Indonesian travellers, thanks to its cultural diversity, dynamic culinary scene, stunning natural landscapes, and wide-ranging tourism products catering to various market segments. Moving forward, Tourism Malaysia remains committed to collaborating with Indonesian media, influencers, and content creators to highlight both popular attractions and hidden gems—further enriching the Malaysian travel experience.

Founders Fund-backed Bitcoin platform, Citrea, unveils  Bitcoin-secured application platform, unlocking institutional and worldwide access to Bitcoin-denominated markets

GEORGE TOWN, Cayman Islands, Jan. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Citrea, the Bitcoin application platform backed by Founders Fund and Galaxy Ventures, announced the launch of its mainnet, enabling capital market activity directly on the Bitcoin network. Citrea also has gone live with ctUSD, its U.S dollar-denominated stablecoin issued by MoonPay and powered by M0, designed to align with the forthcoming GENIUS Act guidelines. Together, the Citrea mainnet and ctUSD provide an institutional-grade USD settlement and liquidity layer for Bitcoin-based financial activity.

Despite Bitcoin's roughly $1.3 trillion market capitalization, on-chain data shows that more than 61 per cent of BTC, has not moved in over a year, highlighting the scale of capital that remains economically idle due to the lack of native application infrastructure.

"Bitcoin is the world's largest digital asset, yet its role in financial markets has been largely constrained. As demand for Bitcoin exposure grows, much of that activity remains off-chain, relying on intermediaries," said Orkun Kilic, co-founder and CEO of Chainway Labs, the company building Citrea. "By bringing Bitcoin-secured financial applications on-chain, the Citrea mainnet enables capital to be deployed, managed, and settled directly within Bitcoin-native markets. Native settlement through ctUSD provides the bridge to fiat systems, supporting use cases such as BTC-backed lending and institutional credit."

Citrea developed its lending infrastructure in collaboration with leading DeFi participants, including Morpho and UltraYield by Edge Capital. Citrea's native offerings will leverage on-chain and off-chain strategies from premier digital asset institutions like Keyrock to deliver safe, transparent, BTC yields.

"Citrea is addressing a huge market opportunity in helping to make Bitcoin truly programmable, a feature the asset has historically lacked in a scalable way," said Bridget Harris, Associate at Founders Fund. "In building both developer-focused and user-facing products which leverage Bitcoin's security, Citrea fundamentally scales the Bitcoin economy as a whole."

"Citrea enables deeper, more native engagement with BTC by bringing capital markets, stablecoin liquidity, and application infrastructure directly onto Bitcoin," said Will Nuelle, General Partner of Galaxy Ventures. "By making Bitcoin a more active financial asset, Citrea strengthens its role within global financial systems and expands the ways institutions and users can securely build on top of the network."

Citrea's approach has meaningful implications for long-term demand, miner incentives, and how institutions engage with Bitcoin. Citrea enables institutions to pursue more capital-efficient strategies with greater control and flexibility than off-chain venues. As block subsidies decline over time, Citrea aligns network security with real economic usage.
