The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, decreased 0.07 percent to 97.706 at 15:00. (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro was down to 1.1735 dollars from 1.1741 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound rose to 1.3486 dollars from 1.3449 dollars in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar bought 147.09 Japanese yen, lower than 147.87 Japanese yen in the previous session. The U.S. dollar was up to 0.7971 Swiss francs from 0.7961 Swiss francs, and it rose to 1.3940 Canadian dollars from 1.3918 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar slipped to 9.3704 Swedish kronor from 9.4085 Swedish kronor.
