A desert poplar forest in northwest China's Gansu Province has become a seasonal hotspot for shutterbugs nationwide, as its golden foliage has created a stunning landscape displaying autumn's finest colors.
In the populus euphratica forest in Dunhuang City, Gansu, golden leaves swayed gently in the autumn breeze, and sunlight filtered through the branches, casting dappled shadows. Visitors strolled through the forest to capture the autumn charm or paused to take photos beneath the trees amidst this "golden sea."
The populus euphratica, or the desert poplar, is a highly resilient tree species, capable of surviving in harsh conditions, withstanding cold, heat, alkali, and extreme drought while serving as a natural barrier against sandstorms.
Every October is the best time to visit Dunhuang's populus euphratica forest.
