The Palestinian death toll in the Gaza Strip stands at 67,869, with 170,105 others injured since the conflict between Hamas and Israel erupted on October 7, 2023, Gaza's health authorities said in a statement on Monday.
A ceasefire and hostage release deal was agreed over the weekend between Israel and Hamas, paving the way for an end to the violence and a resumption of deliveries of desperately needed humanitarian aid.
In a separate statement issued on the same day by Hamas-run government media office in Gaza, since October 7, 2023, Israeli military actions in the Gaza Strip have led to the deaths of 255 journalists.
