Oil prices climbed on Friday.
The West Texas Intermediate for December delivery added 1.40 U.S. dollars, or 2.39 percent, to settle at 60.09 dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for January delivery increased by 1.38 dollars, or 2.19 percent, to settle at 64.39 dollars a barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange.
Crude futures settle higher
Tehran was hit by a barrage of airstrikes on Tuesday, with thick smoke rising in many parts of the city, according to a China Media Group (CMG) reporter stationed in the Iranian capital.
Video footage shot by the reporter showed smoke and dust engulfing nearby buildings after one airstrike.
Airstrikes also threw up thick columns of smoke in western, eastern, and far northeastern Tehran, with all the explosions occurring within minutes of each other, according to the reporter.
