China offers the "biggest certainty" in the current uncertain world, said Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Guo Jiakun at a press briefing in Beijing on Friday when he was responding to a media query regarding several international financial organizations that have recently raised their economic growth forecasts for China in 2025.
The World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and the Asian Development Bank have raised their economic growth forecasts for China this year by 0.4, 0.2, and 0.1 percentage points, respectively. Many institutions said that the Chinese economy continues to demonstrate strong resilience despite challenges. Some foreign media outlets have likened China to an "oasis of certainty" in an international environment gripped with uncertainty.
The sentiment of "having confidence in China" is increasingly becoming a common consensus, he said, adding that international institutions' greater confidence in China's economic growth indicates a growing bullish sentiment toward China.
"The Central Economic Work Conference has just successfully concluded, outlining eight major tasks for next year's economic work, including boosting domestic demand, building a strong domestic market, adhering to open-up policy, and advancing win-win cooperation across multiple fields. This provides direction for the Chinese economy and offers stable expectations, innovative drive, and opportunities for global economic growth. China's 15th Five-Year Plan is about to start, and the stability of Chinese policies, economic growth, and development expectations will continue to release scarce certainty into the world," he said.
"China's new quality productive forces will thrive, with 'made in China' becoming increasingly high-end, intelligent, and green. China's innovative drive will lead global collaboration in innovation, lower the costs of new technologies, and promote sustainable development. China continues to advance high-level opening-up, as it steadily promotes institutional opening-up, uphold the multilateral trading system, and fosters reform and development through greater openness. China's door to openness will continue to widen," Zhao said.
"In an uncertain world, China offers the greatest certainty and will continue to be an important engine for global growth. We welcome all countries aboard the express train of China's development, to share China's vast market, and to achieve mutual success and common development through interconnected interests," he added.
