The war, turmoil, and rise of terrorism in the Middle East are the bitter fruits of the United States intervention, Esmail Baghaei, spokesman for the Foreign Ministry of Iran, said at a press conference on Sunday.

Baghaei emphasized that the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip is a result of Israel's continued siege of Gaza and its escalating criminal activities. Currently, severe weather conditions such as extreme cold and torrential rains are exacerbating the plight of the Palestinian people in Gaza. Furthermore, Israel's violations of the sovereignty of Palestinian, Lebanese, and Syrian states continue.

The spokesman also condemned the U.S. interventionist behavior in the region, saying that it has brought many negative consequences to the Middle East, including war, instability, and the breeding of terrorism.

"The United States must be held accountable for its interference in regional affairs and the crimes it has committed, which have resulted in countless deaths. Regrettably, however, the United States is staying on the same wrong path," he said.

The Venezuelan government on Thursday condemned the United States' seizure of a giant oil tanker off its coast, calling the move "a blatant theft and an act of international piracy."

Baghaei said the U.S. seizure of Venezuelan oil tanker lacked legitimacy and was a blatant criminal act. He stressed that the U.S. has no right to invoke its domestic laws as international law, arguing that if such illegal acts become the norm, the entire international community will suffer.
