China's industrial production and the services sector both maintained stable growth in November, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Monday.
At a press conference in Beijing, Fu Linghui, the spokesman of the NBS, briefed the press on the situation of the national economy in November.
"Industrial production maintained steady growth in November. The value-added industrial output above designated size increased by 4.8 percent year-on-year, with the growth rate remaining basically unchanged from the previous month. Driven by industrial upgrading, the equipment manufacturing sector, characterized by higher technological content and added value, developed rapidly. The service sector also grew steadily. In the same month, the service industry production index rose by 4.2 percent year-on-year, with modern service industries such as information technology and business services showing strong momentum," said Fu.
A breakdown of the industrial output data showed that the mining sector's value-added output increased by 6.3 percent year-on-year in November, while that of the manufacturing sector grew by 4.6 percent. The value-added output of the electricity, heat, gas, and water production and supply sectors rose by 4.3 percent.
In terms of the services sector, the production indices of information transmission, software and information technology services, leasing and business services, and the financial services climbed by 12.9 percent, 8.4 percent, and 5.1 percent year-on-year, respectively.
