PLA Eastern Theater Command releases themed posters of joint military drills

The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Eastern Theater Command on Monday morning published two themed posters on joint military drills around the Taiwan Island.

The first poster, named "Shield of Justice: Shattering Illusions," features two golden shields adorned with the PLA emblem and the pattern of the Great Wall, two container cargo ships, three transport aircraft, and three submarines.

The second poster, named "Arrow of Justice: Control and Deterrence," illustrates an image of "three-dimensional precision firepower -- an arrow storm that crushes separatists and repels the enemy." Multiple forces of the PLA Eastern Theater Command started drills code-named "Justice Mission 2025" around the Taiwan Island on Monday, announced Shi Yi, a spokesperson for the theater command, on Monday morning.

The drills will focus on subjects of sea-air combat readiness patrol, joint seizure of comprehensive superiority, blockade on key ports and areas, as well as all-dimensional deterrence outside the island chain, he said.

Hong Kong's stock market ended lower on Monday with the benchmark Hang Seng Index down 0.71 percent to close at 25,635.23 points.

The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index lost 0.26 percent to end at 8,891.71 points, and the Hang Seng Tech Index edged down 0.30 percent to end at 5,483.01 points.
