China aims to build world-class railway network by 2030

China aims to basically complete building a world-class modern railway network by 2030, significantly enhancing regional connectivity, said China Railway on Sunday.

By 2030, the total mileage of China's operational railway network is expected to reach 180,000 kilometers, including approximately 60,000 kilometers of high-speed rail lines, said the group.

As of the end of 2025, China's operational railway network reached 165,000 kilometers, with more than 50,000 kilometers of high-speed rail lines.

From 2021 to 2025, China's operational railway mileage increased by 12.8 percent, with that of high-speed rail lines surging by about 33 percent.

The central parity rate of the Chinese currency renminbi, or the yuan, strengthened 95 pips to 6.8579 against the U.S. dollar Monday, according to the China Foreign Exchange Trade System.

In China's spot foreign exchange market, the yuan is allowed to rise or fall by 2 percent from the central parity rate each trading day.

The central parity rate of the yuan against the U.S. dollar is based on a weighted average of prices offered by market makers before the opening of the interbank market each business day.
