Chinese stocks closed mixed on Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.33 percent to 4,112.60 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.41 percent higher at 14,306.73 points.
The combined turnover of these two indices totaled 2.91 trillion yuan (about 414.7 billion U.S. dollars), down from 3.94 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.
Stocks related to precious metals, phosphorus chemical industry and battery sectors led the gains, while those in the commercial aerospace, AI applications, digital currency and brain-computer interface sectors suffered major losses.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, gained 0.56 percent to close at 3,367.92 points.
The STAR Composite Index, which reflects the performance of stocks on China's sci-tech innovation board, closed 0.55 percent lower at 1,825.30 points.
