The international market prices of gold and silver both hit record highs on Wednesday largely as investors piled into safe-haven assets amid rising geopolitical tensions.
Gold futures for February delivery settled 0.80 percent higher at 4,635.70 U.S. dollars per ounce on Comex.
The price of March silver futures closed at 91.385 U.S. dollars per ounce, up 5.85 percent from the previous close.
