The Wanfeng Mountain Nature Reserve in Luoping County, southwest China's Yunnan Province, is embracing a prime time for viewing the splendid sea of clouds scenery, brought by the sharpened temperature differences between day and night and abundant moisture.
As the sun slowly rises at dawn, the color of the clouds changes from blackish-gray to grayish-white, and finally to golden yellow. The sun bursts forth from the clouds, and at this moment, everything in sight is a magnificent spectacle of rising and falling clouds. Seen from high above, the vast sea of clouds covers the entire sky, complementing with the rolling mountains. The sea of clouds is one of the prime winter landscapes in Luoping County. It is formed under the influence of the Wanfeng Lake located at the junction of Guizhou, Yunnan and Guangxi. The convergence of cold and warm air with the mountains creates a vast and misty sea of clouds, like a mysterious veil keeping the villages hidden within it.
