Oil prices rose on Tuesday, with both U.S. and global benchmarks posting gains as traders pushed crude higher on the New York and London exchanges.
The West Texas Intermediate for March delivery climbed 1.7 percent to close at 63.21 U.S. dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Meanwhile, Brent crude for March delivery gained 1.6 percent to settle at 67.33 U.S. dollars a barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange.
The rally keeps oil prices elevated compared with recent trading ranges.
Global oil prices strengthen, extending market momentum
A Chinese Spring Festival temple fair was held in Luanda, Angola, from January 31 to February 1 local time, bringing festive celebrations and cultural experience to local residents.
The event was jointly organized by the Chinese Embassy in Angola and the Ingombota Municipal Government of Luanda Province, and undertaken by the Association of Chinese Enterprises in Angola and the China General Chamber of Commerce in Angola.
Chinese Ambassador to Angola Zhang Bin and Incombota Mayor Milca Caquesse attended the event.
Noting that 2026 has been designated as the China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges, Zhang described the temple fair as the first cultural event under that framework and said China is ready to expand cooperation with Angola in cultural exchange, youth engagement and talent development.
Mayor Caquesse said cooperation between Angola and China has produced tangible benefits and thanked China for sharing its traditions with the Angolan public, adding that Angola is keen to deepen exchanges and strengthen people to people links.
Nearly 10,000 overseas Chinese, local Chinese community members, Angolan guests, and residents attended the temple fair. Visitors enjoyed Chinese cultural performances and tasted traditional Chinese cuisine. Many attendees said the event offered them a firsthand experience of Chinese traditions and expressed hope for more people-to-people exchanges between the two countries during the China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges.
