The Cathay International Chinese New Year Night Parade, organized by the Tourism Board, featured a parade of 12 floats and 46 local and international performance troupes in Tsim Sha Tsui at 8 pm.

The float of McDonald's Hong Kong, participating in the parade for the first time, drew design inspiration from the iconic train installation of McDonald’s Sha Tin New Town Plaza restaurant in the 1980s, evoking collective memories for Hong Kong residents.

The popular cartoon character LABUBU also participated in the parade for the first time, appearing on the float of the Hong Kong Brand Toy Association. The float of Hong Kong Disneyland featured the well-known Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Duffy, and LinaBell.

The Ocean Park Corporation's float featured not only the lovely pandas, but also the Park's iconic Ocean Express, cable cars, and Ferris wheel, alongside Whiskers & Friends and adorable animal ambassadors, wishing everyone success and endless joy in the Year of the Horse.

Multiple performance troupes from local and international locations participated in the parade, including the Xi'an Acrobatic Troupe, FierS à Cheval, Ballet Victor Campos, and China Hong Kong Para Dance Sport Association, etc.

After appreciating the parade, local residents and visitors both praised it.
Mr. Chung, a resident, described the parade this year as top-notch, especially mentioning the agile and energetic movements of the performers with horse-themed make-up. Ms. Tsui, another resident, said the parade's atmosphere was wonderful, making her feel the recovering vitality of Hong Kong's urban life, which was the reason for her to stay in Hong Kong for the Chinese New Year this year.
Some tourists from the Taiwan region specifically brought small folding chairs to watch the parade with families and friends, expressing the joy of experiencing Hong Kong's unique Chinese New Year celebrations and the excitement of reliving childhood memories. They praised the McDonald's float as adorable. Mr. Zheng, a tourist from Shaanxi Province, described the parade as spectacular, featuring both traditional Chinese dragon and lion dances as well as international performances with Spanish, Indian, and other countries' styles, enabling him to feel a strong festive atmosphere in Hong Kong.
