Multiple explosions rocked eastern and northeastern Tehran on Saturday night as Iran warned that any attack on the country's infrastructure would trigger escalated retaliation against the United States and Israel.

Video footage captured by the China Media Group (CMG) showed that successive explosions illuminated the night sky over the capital.

"I'm currently in Tehran, the capital of Iran. It is 21:30 local time on March 28, and 02:00 on March 29 Beijing time. About 20 minutes ago, explosions occurred in the east and northeast of Tehran. Since the early morning of Saturday, Tehran has been subjected to several rounds of air strikes by the United States and Israel," CMG reporter Li Jiannan reported.

So far, the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) has launched the 85th wave of Operation True Promise 4, using missiles and drones to attack targets linked to the United States and Israel in the region.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) said on Saturday that it destroyed a Ukrainian anti-drone equipment depot in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, used to assist U.S. forces.

Ebrahim Zolfaghari, spokesman for Iran's main military command Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, said that a warehouse in Dubai containing Ukrainian anti-drone systems and housing 21 Ukrainians had been targeted and destroyed in a joint operation by the IRGC's Air Force and Navy.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said in a telephone conversation with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday that during the negotiations on Iran's nuclear issue, Iran "suffered military aggression twice while engaging in dialogue and diplomatic efforts."

"Now, although U.S. officials claim and promise not to attack Iran's economic and energy infrastructure, the reality is that these infrastructure centers have become targets," he said.

Pezeshkian said Washington's contradictory statements have intensified Iran's distrust of the United States.

He warned that if Iran's infrastructure or economic centers become targets of attack, Iran "will retaliate strongly."

He also said that if regional countries seek development and security, they must not allow Iran's adversaries to use their territory to launch attacks on Iran.

In a telephone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan on Saturday, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said the aggression and criminal acts committed by the United States and Israel against Iran are the main causes of regional instability and security threats.

He stressed that the current core problem lies in Washington's contradictory behavior and unreasonable demands.

He added that the inconsistency between U.S. words and deeds has deepened suspicions and heightened vigilance among all parties against potential deception.

Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf commented on Israel's attack on Iran's infrastructure on Saturday, saying that a strong Iranian counterattack would accelerate the continued collapse of the Israeli regime.

Ghalibaf pointed out that the head of the Israeli army had previously warned that the Israeli military was facing the risk of collapse due to internal contradictions and pressures.

He said the Israeli regime attempted to cover up its internal crisis by escalating tensions and attacking Iran's industrial infrastructure, while also trying to restore confidence among its cabinet and army.

The speaker stressed that Iran would take severe measures to fight back, noting that such a counterattack would not only defeat Israel's plot but also further accelerate the irreversible disintegration of the Israeli regime.

Bilateral relations between China and Seychelles are entering a new phase of expansion, driven by rising trade volumes and growing collaboration in private sector, as well as emerging cooperation in the blue economy and digital innovation.

Chinese Vice President Han Zheng is paying a visit to Seychelles and two other African countries of Kenya and South Africa from March 22 to 30.

The year of 2026 marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Seychelles.

In 1976, Seychelles became a sovereign nation. China was among the first nations to officially recognize the archipelago country's independence from British rule, marking the beginning of a long friendship that has later transformed the small island state in the Indian Ocean.

"This 50th anniversary will allow us to take stock of what we have achieved in different fields, education, health, infrastructure, economy, culture, environment and other areas," Vincent Meriton, former vice president of Seychelles, said in an interview via video link.

In 2024, at the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), the relations between the two countries hit a new peak as the ties were officially elevated to a strategic partnership.

Available data showed that bilateral trade between the two countries has maintained a strong momentum, reaching 84 million U.S. dollars in 2024. China mainly exports high-tech products such as smart phones, high-end camera systems, and mechanical and electric products, among others. Seychelles primarily exports seafood.

The future development of the bilateral ties is now turning offshore as both nations are looking toward blue economy. They are working together on sustainable fisheries and protection for the very ocean that feeds Seychelles.
