China Media Group's Film Culture Carnival will be held in Ningbo City, east China's Zhejiang Province from April 15 to 19, organizers announced at a press conference in Beijing on Friday.

The carnival, themed "2026 Year of Film Economy Promotion," will highlight cinema culture, the integration of film with tourism and intangible cultural heritage, and the development of immersive, full-chain film consumption experiences. Organizers aims to generate new momentum for the film economy and promote cross-sector innovation in the "film plus" industry.

The carnival will feature five main sections, including the release of model cinema projects and new cinema scenarios, the "Reel Views, Real Journeys" campaign, the launch of the "Weekend Movie Night" program, hands-on experiences in film industry manufacturing, and a creative market highlighting intangible cultural heritage inspired by films.

The comprehensive event matrix will connect the industry with consumers, and technology with culture, injecting fresh vitality into the high-quality development of China's film and cultural sectors.

China made public a work plan on Friday to further upgrade service consumption infrastructures and support housekeeping, elderly care and childcare sectors.

The document, jointly released by the Ministry of Commerce and eight other departments, outlined 64 measures to boost service consumption, including traditional sectors like catering and accommodation, tourism, as well as elderly care and childcare.

Emerging growth sectors, such as housekeeping, performance services and inbound consumption, are also covered.

These measures will create new consumption scenarios amid efforts to drive service consumption and meet people's growing needs for a better life, according to the ministry.
