China's Ningbo City launches consolidated clearance for cross-border e-commerce goods

China's port city of Ningbo in the eastern Zhejiang Province launched a customs consolidation program for cargoes of cross-border e-commerce on Saturday.

The new mode allows a one-time clearance for domestic-to-international air transfer. The goods will remain under customs supervision throughout the entire transport process, without the need for repeated customs declaration during transit, according to local officials.

"Here in Ningbo, goods undergo one-stop processing for both consignment and customs clearance procedures. Once the goods arrive at the transit airport, there is no need to repeatedly go through the procedures such as warehousing out, warehousing in, customs declaration and inspection. Under this model, customs clearance time for goods can be reduced by over 30 percent, and clearance costs for enterprises can be lowered by nearly 20 percent," said Chen Jian, an official of Ningbo Airport Customs.
