Dedicated exhibition zones for drones have been set up at the 139th Canton Fair to showcase innovations in the rapid development of China's low-altitude economy, highlighting application of cutting-edge technologies in diverse scenarios ranging from emergency response to urban management.

The 139th edition of the China Import and Export Fair, better known as the Canton Fair, opened on Wednesday in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou, hosting a record number of over 32,000 participating enterprises.

This session features nine new exhibition areas, including dedicated zones for consumer drones and agricultural drones.

For the first time, drone light shows have been performed outside the exhibition halls, demonstrating the capabilities of the latest models.

One of the standout exhibits is a modular drone capable of performing multiple tasks by swapping different functional modules. In emergency rescue operations, it can carry searchlights and high-volume megaphones to provide on-site guidance and support.

Another company has showcased a smart throwable drone equipped with an intelligent controller that can independently release four water bags in a single flight, enabling efficient multi-point firefighting.

Another highlight is a micro-intelligent drone, designed for stealth operations in highly challenging environments.

"We have made many technological breakthroughs in these products. For example, we are the first to equip our illumination drones with Fresnel lens, the first to install high-volume loudspeakers on our drones, and the first to integrate a 400-volt high-voltage power supply system on drones," said Zhang Kai, vice president of Guangzhou Chengzhi Intelligent Machinery Technology Company and an exhibitor at the 139th Canton Fair.

"These innovations maximize the drone's performance to fully meet the requirements of [various application scenarios]. Our solution-based products have already been exported to 52 other countries around the world. The new drone models we launched at this edition of the Canton Fair have already in pre-sales in parts of North America, the Middle East and Europe," he said.

In addition, a mobile low-altitude service station has been set up at the flight demonstration area. Equipped with an intelligent multimodal monitoring and early-warning platform, the station can identify low-altitude aircraft in real time, providing effective support for the safe operation of low-altitude routes.

A Russian navy fleet consisting of Navy corvettes Sovershennyy and Rezkiy, and the medium-sized oil tanker Pechenga arrived in Zhanjiang City of south China's Guangdong Province on Wednesday for a goodwill visit.

The Russian fleet, flying the flags of both Russia and China, docked on Wednesday morning at a military port in Zhanjiang, where the Chinese side held a welcome ceremony.

During the visit, Chinese and Russian officers and soldiers will tour each other's ships, attend receptions, participate in professional exchanges, and compete in sporting events.

The visiting vessels belong to the Russian Pacific Fleet and had all previously participated in cooperation and exchange activities between the two Navies.

The Chinese vessel participated in the exchange, Chenzhou, is a home-grown guided-missile frigate, with strong early warning and detection capabilities as well as comprehensive combat capabilities in multiple aspects, including shore bombardment, anti-ship, anti-aircraft and anti-submarine warfare. Since its commissioning, it has participated in and successfully completed a number of major drills and military exercises.

"I hope that in the following days of the event, we can deepen friendship and engage in professional and technical discussions with our Russian counterparts, and showcase the excellent image of the Chinese Navy," said Zhang Wenxuan, a Chinese Navy sub-lieutenant on Frigate Chenzhou.

The visit is part of routine goodwill exchanges between the two Navies, aimed at further enhancing mutual trust and practical cooperation, which is neither targeted at any third party nor linked to the current international and regional situation.
