The 16th Beijing International Film Festival which is currently underway has for the first time set up a dedicated animated film section to showcase the artistic achievements, industrial vitality, and cultural strength of domestic animated films.
Running from April 16 to 25 at the China National Film Museum, the animation-themed event features five elements -- tribute, exchange, screening, experience, and exhibition.
Several acclaimed animated works are being screened during the film festival. In addition, the organizers have launched an animated film digital image exhibition and other special exhibitions, as well as film merchandise and cultural events, bringing animated film culture closer to the public.
