Sierra Leonean President Julius Maada Bio has reaffirmed his country's commitment to supporting the one-China policy, saying that Taiwan is an inalienable part of China.

In an exclusive interview with China Media Group (CMG) at the UN headquarters in New York aired on Friday, Bio emphasized Sierra Leone's long-standing position regarding Taiwan. "We have been very steadfast in our commitment to the one-China policy. We believe that is the way out at the end, and the one-China policy is what we still support," said Bio.

Bio further stated that Taiwan is part of China and emphasized that the Taiwan question is purely an internal affair of China.

The Qingnian hub on the Pinglu Canal in Qinzhou City, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, started integrated wet commissioning on Thursday.

The commissioning will simulate the entire linkage process of the single-lane ship lock in both downstream and upstream operation modes, focusing on testing the synchronous coordination of the lock equipment.

The commissioning at the Qingnian hub will run until late July.
