No matter how many weapons the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities buy from the United States, it's just like a mantis trying to stop a chariot, Chen Binhua, a spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, warned Taiwan separatist forces on Wednesday.

"The DPP authorities deliberately attempt to seek secession by soliciting U.S. support and through military buildup, escalate confrontations between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait, and undermine peace and stability across the Strait. They are undoubtedly a destroyer of peace and creator of crises across the Taiwan Strait. We would like to make it clear to the DPP authorities that national reunification is an unstoppable trend, and no matter how many weapons they buy, it's just like a mantis trying to stop a chariot and will only accelerate the collapse of Taiwan separatist forces," Chen said at a regular press conference in Beijing.
