A large pack of wolves wandering through heavy snow in the Altai Mountains of China's northwestern Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region has been captured on rare infrared camera footage, marking the largest wolf pack recorded in the area since monitoring began in 2018.

The video sequences, retrieved on June 2 in the Fuhai branch of the Xinjiang Altai Mountains State-owned Forest Administration, showed nearly 20 wolves moving in a single line across the snow-blanketed forest terrain.

A clip captured a lone wolf carrying prey in its jaws as it passed directly in front of the camera.

The sighting of such a large pack is considered a sign of steady improvement of the ecological environment in the Altai Mountain forest area.

To date, the bureau's cameras have documented nearly 30 distinct wildlife species, including wolverines, red deer, and wild boars.

The Southeast Asian country earned about 93 million U.S. dollars from the exports during the period, the federation said.

According to the federation's data, rice exports in April and May this fiscal year were lower than the over 400,000 tons exported during the same period last fiscal year.
