Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said Moscow maintains both open and private channels of communication with Ukraine, Tass reported, citing an interview aired Sunday on the Russian television program Vesti.
Ushakov also commented on statements made by Russian President Vladimir Putin at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum on June 5.
During his speech at the forum's plenary session, Putin revealed that a Russian businessman had traveled to Kiev to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Ushakov described the businessman as a well-known figure but declined to reveal his identity.
