Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chinese president, concluded his state visit to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Tuesday afternoon.
Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the DPRK, and his wife Ri Sol Ju saw Xi and his wife Peng Liyuan off with a grand farewell ceremony at the airport.
On the way to the airport, representatives from all walks of life in Pyongyang lined the streets, waving national flags of China and the DPRK as well as flowers, and chanting slogans celebrating China-DPRK friendship.
Thousands of local residents and children gathered at the airport to see the Chinese guests off.
Accompanied by Kim, Xi reviewed the Guard of Honor.
The two couples then shook hands once again and bid a warm farewell before Xi and Peng boarded the plane.
At the invitation of Kim, Xi paid a state visit to the DPRK from Monday to Tuesday.
