A handful of anti-China elements in the Philippines should make the right choice, and stop bluffing and putting on political stunts, said Senior Colonel Chen Xi, spokesman for the Ministry of National Defense, on Tuesday.
To uphold China's sovereignty, security and development interests, China has decided to prohibit Gilberto Teodoro Jr. and his spouse and child from entering the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Macao, and not allow organizations and individuals in China to engage in any transaction, cooperation or other activities with him and his spouse and child, China's foreign ministry announced on Thursday.
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has repeatedly explained the relevant situation. Teodoro and his relatives have been sanctioned by China. It is entirely their own fault. This is a legitimate measure taken by China to safeguard its national sovereignty, security and development interests. If a handful of anti-China elements are allowed to act wantonly, it will directly harm the people's livelihood of the Philippines and have a destructive impact on the relations between China and the Philippines and their militaries. We advise them to make the right choice, and stop bluffing and putting on political stunts," Chen said at a press conference in response to a related query.
