Journalists from Myanmar have expressed their confidence in the relationship between China and Myanmar, as President of Myanmar Min Aung Hlaing continues a state visit to China from June 15 to 19 at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.

In a recent interview with China Global Television Network (CGTN), U Myat Knine, editor in chief of Popular News, highlighted mutual trust as the cornerstone of the enduring friendship between Myanmar and China.

"The 'Pauk-Phaw'(fraternal) friendship between our country and China spans many years. We share a contiguous border, and the heads of state of both nations share deep mutual trust. In fact, the primary reason this 'Pauk-Phaw' kinship remains so rock-solid is precisely because of this mutual trust. China trusts Myanmar, and Myanmar trusts China. At its core, it is this mutual trust between both nations that drives our relationship," said the editor in chief.

U Hein Latt, a writer and journalist, said he wants to see more information and cultural exchanges, and to leverage the transformative power of cinema, music, literature and culture for regional prosperity.

"President Xi often speaks of 'building a community with a shared future for humanity.' I firmly believe that, as this vision bears fruit, countries around the world including Myanmar will inevitably bring about an era of true prosperity and peace. Cinema, music, literature, and culture wield immense influence in promoting friendly relations between nations. Personally, I am responsible for work related to literary and cultural news. As an industry veteran who has been deeply immersed in this field for many years, it is my sincere hope to further promote our information and cultural exchanges," he said.

Switzerland's foreign ministry announced on Thursday that the United States and Iran will hold talks in Switzerland on Friday with mediators.

The ministry said the talks are scheduled to take place in Burgenstock, Switzerland, and mediators from Pakistan, Qatar, and other relevant countries will participate in these initial negotiations to discuss the implementation of the U.S.-Iran peace deal.

Also on Thursday, Iran's Tasnim news agency quoted informed sources as saying that the Iranian delegation's trip to Switzerland had not been finalized.

If it is confirmed that the Iranian delegation will go to Switzerland, further details will be released, according to the informed sources.

Meanwhile, Lebanon's Al Mayadeen TV also quoted sources as saying that, due to the ongoing Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon, the Iranian negotiating team has postponed its trip to Switzerland.

Furthermore, Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar confirmed to local media on Thursday that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had canceled his planned visit to Switzerland.

Dar said that the United States and Iran had already signed a memorandum of understanding remotely, and Shehbaz, as a mediator, had also signed.

Therefore, the signing ceremony originally scheduled for Friday in Switzerland has been canceled, Dar said.
