China condemns attacks against civilians and calls for peace talks to resolve the Ukraine crisis, Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said at a press conference in Beijing on Monday.

In response to a media query, Guo urged a stop to attacks against civilians and stressed that dialogue and negotiation is the only viable way out of the Ukraine crisis.

"China would condemn any attack that targets innocent civilians. We urge relevant parties to remain calm, exercise restraint, and stop attacking civilians and civilian infrastructure. China believes in dialogue and negotiation as the only viable way out of the Ukraine crisis. We call on the parties concerned to work toward early deescalation and accumulate conditions for relaunching direct talks and negotiation," Guo said.

The main bridge of the Qinglongmen Grand Bridge, under construction in eastern China's Zhejiang Province, successfully closed on Tuesday.

Spanning the Qinglongmen Channel at the Ningbo-Zhoushan Port, the bridge stretched a length of 2,212 meters, featuring three towers and two main spans, each measuring 756 meters long.

It is one of the two primary bridges of the Phase II project of the Liuheng Highway Bridge at Ningbo-Zhoushan Port.

Stretching 18.78 kilometers, the Phase II project connects Liuheng Island, Fodu Island and Meishan Island in Zhejiang Province.

Scheduled to open to traffic by the end of 2027, the project will slash travel time between the three islands from a two-hour ferry ride to a 20-minute drive, boosting the local transport efficiency by about 75 percent.
