Russia and Ukraine on Sunday reported trading strikes across multiple locations.

The Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement that over the past 24 hours, its forces had struck Ukrainian targets in 149 areas, including military airfields, fuel and energy infrastructure, transportation infrastructure, logistics centers, production and storage sites for long-range drones, as well as temporary deployment sites for Ukrainian troops and foreign mercenaries.

In Krasnyi Lyman, Donetsk, Russian forces continued to clear mines and conduct mop-up operations against Ukrainian troops in the city, while also destroying a bridge and 11 drone control points, said the ministry.

The ministry also said Russian air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 116 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones over Moscow, several other locations, and the Crimea region on the day.

The Ukrainian side said on Monday morning that Russia launched overnight strikes on Kiev, with officials reporting ballistic missile attacks and civilian building damages.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Sunday reported 295 combat engagements in the past day, saying its forces struck six Russian troop assembly areas and seven command posts.

It also claimed strikes on an airfield used by Russian forces in the Crimea region that day, as well as on two bridges in the Donetsk region used by Russian forces to transport personnel, equipment, and ammunition, and three ammunition depots in the Donetsk, Lugansk, and Kherson regions.

Kiev has refused to accept the bodies of Ukrainian servicemen who died in Konstantinovka in Donetsk, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Sunday.

The ministry on Saturday expressed Russia's readiness to conduct a humanitarian operation in order to hand over the bodies, and proposed that the Ukrainian side stop shelling Konstantinovka from 12:00 to 18:00 on July 6, 2026.

Kiev was given a deadline of noon Sunday to respond through official designated communication channels.

The ministry said more than 20 media editorial boards from different countries and continents expressed their desire to cover the handover, adding that it would organize the work of journalists in Konstantinovka in the event of the consent of the Ukrainian side.

"After reviewing the proposal with its security agencies, the Ukrainian side turned down this initiative," the ministry stated.

Russia claimed on Friday that its armed forces had taken full control of the city of Konstantinovka in the frontline. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine denied the claim, saying the city is still under the control of the Ukrainian side.
