Land Registry releases statistics for first half of 2026

The Land Registry today (July 6) released its statistics for the first half of 2026.

Land registration

* The number of sale and purchase agreements for all building units received for registration for the first half of 2026 was 49 955 (+13.9 per cent compared with the second half of 2025 and +35.6 per cent compared with the first half of 2025).

* The total consideration for these agreements for the first half of 2026 was $410.29 billion (+21.7 per cent compared with the second half of 2025 and +48.1 per cent compared with the first half of 2025).

* The number of assignments of building units for the first half of 2026 was 64 905 (+15.3 per cent compared with the second half of 2025 and +40.6 per cent compared with the first half of 2025).

* The total consideration for these assignments for the first half of 2026 was $432.96 billion (+19.8 per cent compared with the second half of 2025 and +52.9 per cent compared with the first half of 2025).

Land search

* The number of searches of land registers made by the public for the first half of 2026 was 2 568 991 (+8.4 per cent compared with the second half of 2025 and +14.3 per cent compared with the first half of 2025).

New District Officer for Tuen Mun assumes office

Ms Clarissa Wan will assume the post of District Officer (Tuen Mun) tomorrow (July 7), succeeding Mr Michael Kwan.

Since joining the Administrative Service in 2015, Ms Wan has served in various bureaux and departments, including the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau, the then Food and Health Bureau, the Development Bureau and the Chief Secretary for Administration's Office.

She was the Assistant District Officer (Kwai Tsing) before taking up the new post of District Officer (Tuen Mun).
