Additional referral institution for "HKMC Retire 3"

The Hong Kong Mortgage Corporation Limited (HKMC) has been collaborating with various institutions to promote the "HKMC Retire 3" and the development of the retirement planning market. The HKMC announced today (July 20) a further expansion of its existing referral network for the "HKMC Retire 3", authorising tied agency force at BOC Group Life Assurance Company Limited (BOC Life) to refer the "HKMC Retire 3", including the Reverse Mortgage Programme (RMP), the Policy Reverse Mortgage Programme (PRMP) and the HKMC Annuity Plan (Note), to their eligible customers.

Executive Director and the Chief Executive Officer of the HKMC, Mr Colin Pou,said, "The HKMC is grateful for the support from BOC Life, which enables more customers to learn about the 'HKMC Retire 3'. Over the years, these products have provided Hong Kong citizens with effective retirement planning solutions for generating lifelong payouts and enhancing the quality of their retirement lives. In the future, we will continue to work closely with various institutions in stepping up the promotion of the 'HKMC Retire 3' and assisting Hong Kong citizens in retirement financial planning."

The "HKMC Retire 3" can help Hong Kong citizens manage longevity risks by turning their residential properties, life insurance policies and savings into lifelong, stable income. Hong Kong Customs detects suspected cases of illegal importing of animals

Hong Kong Customs today (July 20) detected two suspected cases of illegal importing of animals at the Lok Ma Chau Spur Line Control Point. Three suspected illegally imported live cats with a total estimated market value of about $36,000 were seized.

Customs officers today intercepted a 59-year-old incoming Mainland male passenger and a 58-year-old incoming Mainland female passenger at the Arrival Hall of the Control Point. Upon examination, two live cats and one live cat were seized from their backpacks respectively. The two passengers were subsequently arrested. The cases were handed over to the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department for follow-up investigation.

Customs reminds the public that importing animals into Hong Kong without a valid permit is an offence.

Under the Rabies Regulation, any person found guilty of illegally importing animals, carcasses or animal products is liable to a maximum fine of $50,000 and imprisonment for one year.
