Almost 4,800 foreign-funded enterprises made additional investments in China in the first half (H1) of 2026, reflecting their continued confidence in the Chinese market, Vice Minister of Commerce Yan Dong said in Beijing on Thursday.
"The number of newly established foreign-invested enterprises rose 5.3 percent year on year in the first half of this year, while foreign direct investment (FDI) in actual use totaled 402.14 billion yuan (about 59.22 billion U.S. dollars). The country's foreign investment structure continued to improve, with FDI in high-tech industries now accounting for 42.4 percent of the total after a 33.2 percent surge year on year. Foreign investors remained optimistic about the Chinese market, with nearly 4,800 foreign-invested enterprises increasing their investments in China during the first half of the year, " Yan told reporters at a press conference.
