International gold and silver prices both advanced on Friday.
On the New York Mercantile Exchange, gold futures for August delivery rose 0.51 percent to settle at 4,070.80 U.S. dollars per ounce, while silver futures for September delivery gained 1.47 percent to close at 58.906 dollars per ounce.

Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived at Joint Base Andrews on Wednesday afternoon to begin a three-day state visit to the United States.
Xi and his wife Peng Liyuan were warmly greeted by U.S. President Donald Trump and his wife Melania Trump at the base in a rare planeside welcome.
The welcome ceremony also included a gun salute and the playing of the national anthems of both countries.
