A total of 3,750 tonnes of green ammonia produced in northeast China's Jilin Province departed for the Republic of Korea on Tuesday, setting a record as the world's largest single-batch green ammonia export to date.

The shipment was transported overland to Lianyungang, a coastal port city in east China's Jiangsu Province, before being loaded onto a vessel for the overseas market.

This landmark shipment represents the first time China’s green fuel has gained international market value recognition on the strength of its full-lifecycle carbon reduction benefits.

The green ammonia comes from the world's largest single-unit green ammonia facility, boasting an annual production capacity of 180,000 tonnes. Leveraging abundant wind and photovoltaic resources in western Jilin, its production process cuts carbon emissions by more than 90 percent compared with conventional coal-based ammonia manufacturing.
