U.S. stocks ended higher on Tuesday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 907.47 points, or 1.71 percent, to 54,085.88 points. The S and P 500 added 136.02 points, or 1.79 percent, to 7,736.52 points. The Nasdaq Composite Index increased by 671.10 points, or 2.59 percent, to 26,584.99 points.
Six of the 11 primary S and P 500 sectors ended in the green, with technology and materials leading the gainers by adding 4.09 percent and 1.99 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, utilities and energy led the laggards by going down 0.6 percent and 0.49 percent, respectively.
