U.S. stocks ended mixed on Wednesday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell by 21.58 points, or 0.04 percent, to 53,770.27. The S and P 500 added 20.30 points, or 0.26 percent, to 7,748.50. The Nasdaq Composite Index increased by 143.042 points, or 0.54 percent, to 26,588.49.
Eight of the 11 primary S and P 500 sectors ended in green, with real estate and technology leading the gainers by adding 1.08 percent and 1.06 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, consumer discretionary and materials led the laggards by going down 1.40 percent and 1.19 percent, respectively.

The U.S. dollar increased in late trading on Wednesday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, gained 0.19 percent to 100.014 at 1900 GMT.
In late New York trading, the euro decreased to 1.1521 U.S. dollars from 1.1540 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound dropped to 1.3488 dollars from 1.3503 dollars in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar bought 159.49 Japanese yen, higher than 159.26 Japanese yen in the previous session. The U.S. dollar climbed to 0.8137 Swiss francs from 0.8112 Swiss francs, and it increased to 1.3947 Canadian dollars from 1.3920 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar rose to 9.5858 Swedish kronor from 9.5244 Swedish kronor.
