CHUZHOU, China, Aug. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Trina Storage, the energy storage business unit of Trinasolar, recently welcomed a delegation from Uzmetkombinat JSC to its manufacturing base in Chuzhou, China. Organized by All Solar, Trinasolar's module distributor in Uzbekistan, the visit focused on how battery energy storage systems (BESS) could support Uzmetkombinat's industrial energy requirements.

Based in Bekabad, Uzmetkombinat is an established Uzbek metallurgical producer of rolled steel, grinding steel balls, ferroalloys and other industrial products. Its delegation toured Trina Storage's manufacturing and system integration facilities and discussed using BESS to optimize electricity loads, reduce peak demand, improve energy efficiency and strengthen power supply stability.

Trina Storage introduced its vertically integrated cell-to-system capabilities, built around in-house manufactured lithium iron phosphate cells. The platform integrates the battery management system, power conversion system, energy management system, liquid cooling and fire protection. The delegation also learned about Elementa 3, Trina Storage's latest utility-scale BESS, which uses an in-house 587 Ah cell and provides up to 6.25 MWh of storage capacity per container. Its multilayer safety architecture includes millisecond-level early warning, UL94-5VA flammability-rated modules and composite walls providing two hours of fire resistance.

This combination of in-house technology, safety engineering and system integration is supported by Trinasolar's inclusion in S&P Global Energy's 2026 Tier 1 Cleantech Companies List for both photovoltaic modules and energy storage systems. Trina Storage has also secured BloombergNEF Tier 1 energy storage supplier status for ten consecutive quarters, reinforcing its international bankability and delivery credentials.

Abdullaev Bakhodir Tojimirzaevich, Chairman of the Management Board – General Director of JSC "Uzmetkombinat" said, "Uzmetkombinat is continuing to modernize its operations with a focus on energy efficiency, sustainable development and the responsible use of resources. Battery energy storage is an area we are interested in exploring as we look at ways to manage energy more effectively, strengthen operational reliability and support our longer-term decarbonization objectives."

Following the visit, Trina Storage and Uzmetkombinat will continue discussions on the potential application of battery energy storage within Uzmetkombinat's operations.

Ku Junheong, Vice President of Trinasolar Asia Pacific, said: "Energy-intensive industries have an important role to play in Uzbekistan's energy transition. Battery storage can provide greater flexibility in how electricity is managed and, alongside renewable generation, support more efficient and reliable industrial energy systems. We see our engagement with Uzmetkombinat as an opportunity to apply Trina Storage's technology and system expertise to these evolving requirements."

This potential cooperation sits within a broader national push to provide flexible, reliable and more efficient energy solutions for Uzbekistan's industrial sector. The discussions come as Uzbekistan accelerates energy storage deployment, with national plans calling for 4.5 GW of storage capacity by 2030.
