Hong Kong Fashion Fest launches third edition

Presented by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), and spearheaded and sponsored by the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency under the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau, the third edition of Hong Kong Fashion Fest was launched on September 1 with its opening programme "VIRTUOSE: The Artistry of Couture 2026" (VIRTUOSE) orgainsed by the Hong Kong Fashion Designers Association and held at the Hong Kong Palace Museum. Bringing together four designer brands from Spain, Vietnam and Hong Kong, the show highlighted the couture designers' extraordinary craftsmanship and creativity.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, Miss Rosanna Law, said that Hong Kong Fashion Fest underscores the HKSAR Government's unwavering commitment to forging Hong Kong as Asia's premier fashion design capital. She added that Hong Kong will channel the vibrant creative energy across every link of the fashion value chain, further reinforcing Hong Kong's position as Asia's leading hub for fashion design and retail.

Also taking place this evening was the opening ceremony of another flagship programme ,"Wear's HK", organised by the Clothing Industry Training Authority as a new initiative this year. The city-wide fashion pop-up "Wear's HK" brings together 20 prominent and emerging Hong Kong designer brands at six prime locations from September 1 until September 14. The programme brings runway designs to the public and global visitors, offering an immersive "see-now, try-now, wear-now, buy-now" shopping experience.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Permanent Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ms Vivian Sum, said that "Wear's HK" is a fresh, new initiative of this edition of Hong Kong Fashion Fest. Fashion pop-up stores help bring Hong Kong fashion into retail venues, enabling the public and visitors to experience the energy of local creativity.

LCSD to roll out "three major ball games" sports days with sports fun for all

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department will roll out six sports days, focusing on the "three major ball games", at designated sports centres from September to December. All activities are free of charge and welcome walk-in participation, encouraging everyone to enjoy sports fun and develop the habit of regular exercise.

The sports days have a highlight on basketball, volleyball and football, in line with the national direction of promoting national fitness and developing the "three major ball games". This encourages members of the public to participate in team sports and enhance their physical fitness, promoting "sport for all". Activities will include professional skill demonstrations, challenge competitions, and elite friendly matches. In addition, renowned athletes such as Sun Yue, Lee Ho-ching, Sze Hang-yu, Wan Ka-nam, Lau Kin-ken, Kelvin Tsang and Leung Shiu-wah will share their experiences with the public in person. Other appeals include fitness exercises and activities, DIY workshops, and interactive games for participants of all ages.
