Israeli air strikes in southern Lebanon kill at least 27

Israeli strikes on southern Lebanon over the past three days have killed at least 27 people and wounded 69 others, including children, women and medical personnel, according to preliminary casualty figures released on Monday by Lebanon's Ministry of Public Health Emergency Operations Center.

Since March 2, the cumulative death toll from Israeli attacks has reached 4,381, with 12,402 people injured, the center reported on Monday evening.

It added that the total number of deaths from Israeli attacks has risen to 8,948, with 30,638 injured since October 8, 2023.

International gold and silver prices closed mixed on Monday.

On the New York Mercantile Exchange, gold futures for December delivery lost 0.55 percent to settle at 4,452 U.S. dollars per ounce, while silver futures for December delivery rose 0.10 percent to close at 66.815 dollars per ounce.
