SHEIN TAPS TOP STREAMERS TO BRING ITS FALL/WINTER '26 TREND CAMPAIGN TO LIFE
The AI-powered traffic signal system combines multimodal sensing, edge computing and C-V2X to validate next-generation intelligent intersections under real-world conditions
News Highlights:
- LEOTEK has completed the deployment of its Interlux AI Traffic Signal System at Curiosity Lab in Peachtree Corners, Georgia.
- The system is now being evaluated under real-world traffic conditions within Curiosity Lab's connected smart city environment.
- The collaboration builds on LEOTEK's established U.S. presence and supports the expansion of AI-powered traffic signals from individual intersections to city-scale applications.
PEACHTREE CORNERS, Ga., Sept. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- As the United States continues to advance the use of artificial intelligence, V2X connectivity and intelligent infrastructure in traffic management and roadway safety, LEOTEK, a global provider of AI-powered transportation and urban infrastructure solutions, today announced that it has completed the deployment of its Interlux AI Traffic Signal System at Curiosity Lab in Peachtree Corners, Georgia.
The collaboration combines LEOTEK's nearly three decades of experience in the North American market with Curiosity Lab's real-world urban environment and technology ecosystem. Interlux is now being evaluated under live traffic conditions, generating insights that will support broader adoption across U.S. cities.
Connecting an Established U.S. Presence with a Smart City Ecosystem
Owned and operated by the City of Peachtree Corners, Curiosity Lab is one of the country's leading 5G-enabled smart city living labs. Its infrastructure includes a three-mile test corridor for autonomous and connected vehicles, along with C-V2X connectivity, intelligent traffic signals, traffic cameras, sensors and an IoT control room.
The testing environment connects directly to public roads traveled by more than 14,000 vehicles each day, allowing emerging technologies to be deployed, evaluated and refined under real-world urban traffic conditions.
LEOTEK has served the U.S. market for nearly three decades. Its traffic signal solutions are deployed across more than 70% of major U.S. metropolitan areas, giving the company extensive experience in large-scale transportation infrastructure. The Curiosity Lab collaboration builds on that foundation by bringing AI-powered perception, connected coordination and real-time decision-making to urban intersections.
"Curiosity Lab brings together resources including NVIDIA AI computing, T-Mobile 5G, C-V2X and geospatial technologies to support innovation across smart mobility and urban infrastructure," said Pouyan Azizpour, Innovation Program Manager at Curiosity Lab. "We are pleased to work with LEOTEK to bring its Interlux AI Traffic Signal System to Curiosity Lab. This real-world environment allows us to evaluate its capabilities while exploring opportunities for further integration with our ecosystem and potential applications in other cities."
Validating AI-Powered Traffic Signals on Real Roads
Interlux combines radar-camera sensor fusion, the NVIDIA Jetson Orin edge AI platform and C-V2X communications. The system can detect vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists and other road users in real time, providing insight into traffic flow and potential conflicts.
These capabilities support intersection safety monitoring, emergency vehicle priority and traffic signal optimization while giving transportation agencies a clearer view of changing roadway conditions.
"Interlux moves traffic signals beyond fixed timing by giving intersections the ability to detect and respond to what is happening on the road," said David Tzou, Intelligent Transportation AI Solution Architect at LEOTEK. "This deployment allows us to evaluate the system under real-world conditions and continue refining its safety and operational capabilities."
From Field Validation to City-Scale Adoption
"LEOTEK has deep roots in Silicon Valley and decades of experience serving cities across the United States," said Bob Flaherty, Vice President of IoT Solutions at LEOTEK. "Our collaboration with Curiosity Lab brings together AI innovation, connected infrastructure and day-to-day transportation operations, creating a practical foundation for expanding this technology to more cities."
Roadway conditions and transportation priorities vary from city to city, making flexibility, interoperability and scalability essential for intelligent transportation systems, said Eric Zhao, U.S. Intelligent Transportation Product Manager at LEOTEK.
"This deployment gives us valuable insight into the operational needs of cities and transportation agencies," Zhao said. "It will help us develop an implementation model that can be adapted to different urban environments across the United States."
Building on this deployment, LEOTEK will explore opportunities to connect Interlux with Curiosity Lab's existing infrastructure and broader technology ecosystem. The company also plans to share insights through case studies, technology demonstrations and industry events as it expands AI-powered traffic signal applications from individual intersections to corridors and citywide networks.
