H.E. Tran Phuoc Anh, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Singapore, said:

"AgriS' decision to establish its Global Innovation Center in Singapore reflects the growing confidence and international ambition of Vietnam's private sector. Through the Center, AgriS aims to connect scientific research with commercial application; agricultural capabilities with international technology and capital; and Vietnam's production strengths with regional and global markets.

In this direction, Singapore serves as a strategic convergence point, connecting AgriS' agricultural foundations in Vietnam and the wider region with leading universities, research institutions, technology partners, investors and international customers."

Connecting Research with Commercialization

The AgriS Global Innovation Center serves as a permanent hub in Singapore, connecting science, technology, data and market insights with AgriS' production capabilities and value chains, helping shorten the journey from concept development and validation to application and commercialization.

The Center is focused on four strategic roles: accelerating agricultural innovation and commercialization; connecting R&D with industry and international markets; driving supply-chain integration and value creation; and providing a platform for AgriS' regional and global expansion strategy.

Ms. Dang Huynh Uc My, Chairlady of the Board of Directors of AgriS, emphasized:

"Innovation creates value when science moves beyond research into real-world application, becomes integrated into the value chain and reaches markets at meaningful scale.

The AgriS Global Innovation Center is designed as a Nexus – bringing together strategic partners, scientific and technological capabilities, agricultural and production platforms, capital and international markets. From Singapore, we aim to shorten the journey from concept to commercialization, while creating new pathways for agricultural innovation from Vietnam and the region to reach global markets."

At the AgriS Global Innovation Center, AgriS works with domestic and international experts and technology partners to test and co-develop high-tech agricultural solutions. Solutions are connected early with production conditions, technology requirements, capital and market demand, thereby improving their readiness for application, commercialization and scale.

Singapore - A Strategic Nexus

The AgriS Global Innovation Center builds on AgriS' research and partnership network across Vietnam, Australia, Indonesia and Singapore. AgriS currently manages nearly 90,000 hectares of growing areas across Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Australia; operates 11 AgTech Hubs; and is supported by approximately 9,000 hectares of research farms across Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Australia and Indonesia.

This network provides real-world environments for new technologies and solutions to be tested, validated and refined under actual agricultural operating conditions. From Singapore, AgriS connects these capabilities with international research institutions, technology partners, investors and customers.

The development of the Center is supported by JTC Corporation, a Singapore government agency for master planning, developing and managing industrial estates to drive business innovation and economic growth.

Mr. John Lu, Director for Trade at Enterprise Singapore, said:

"We are pleased that AgriS has chosen Singapore for its first Global Innovation Center. As a multinational agricultural group, AgriS will be able to leverage this Global Innovation Center to grow its R&D capabilities, while tapping Singapore's vibrant agri-food and innovation ecosystem to accelerate the development and commercialisation of high-value agricultural solutions. As a trusted business hub that is deeply integrated into global supply chains, Singapore can serve as a strategic gateway to bring these new solutions to other markets."

Mr. Joel Ang, Vice President and Head of Southeast Asia and Oceania at the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), said:

"The launch of the AgriS Global Innovation Centre is a key milestone in the company's growth journey and underscores the ambition of Southeast Asian enterprises to anchor high-value R&D in Singapore. We warmly welcome this investment which will create good jobs, foster partnerships with local enterprises in Singapore, and accelerate AgriS' global expansion."

Expanding Research and Commercialization Partnerships

Building on the connection between scientific research and real-world agricultural application, at AgriS Global NEXUS 2026, AgriS and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU Singapore), through Global Mind Agriculture (GMA), announced their intention to further develop the proposed AgriS–NTU Joint Lab for Resilient Bioinnovation, to be anchored at FRESH@NTU.

The proposed Joint Lab is expected to connect scientific research in Singapore with AgriS' field-validation, production and commercialization capabilities across tropical agricultural markets.

AgriS also signed Memoranda of Understanding with the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) and the Vietnam Marketing Association (VMA), broadening its collaboration network from research and technology to market development and commercialization. Through the Center in Singapore, AgriS aims to serve as a platform connecting Vietnam's multidisciplinary innovation capabilities with international networks of research, technology, capital and markets.

Driving Innovation Across the Value Chain

AgriS' research and partnership initiatives are built on its agricultural value-chain platform, connecting R&D with growing areas, production, data, finance, logistics and markets to develop solutions that enhance operational efficiency, optimize resources and create greater value from agriculture.

This direction is reflected in the strategy "Beyond Agriculture. Creating Sustainable Value" with the ambition to expand the value generated by agriculture beyond raw materials toward value-added products, technology, knowledge, business models and scalable commercial solutions.

AgriS' portfolio currently includes nearly 200 food and agricultural products across sugarcane, coconut, rice, banana and pineapple, together with nature-derived nutritional solutions. On this foundation, the AgriS Global Innovation Center connects research, field validation, production and markets, enabling new solutions to be assessed for feasibility, market demand and scalability before commercial deployment.

The Center was launched as part of AgriS Global NEXUS 2026 – Converge to Elevate, where AgriS and its partners explored how ASEAN can transform its agricultural advantages into higher-value products and solutions by strengthening connections across science, policy, industry, finance and international markets.

The program also expanded opportunities for collaboration in research, technology, talent development, cross-border investment, supply-chain integration and commercialization.

With Singapore serving as a strategic hub within its international innovation network, AgriS aims to connect research capabilities, growing areas and value chains across its operating markets with global technology, capital and customers. Through AgriS Global NEXUS, the Group continues to develop a collaborative ecosystem that can bring agricultural solutions from research and testing into real-world application, commercialization and international scale.

The three-day learning event brings together soy industry professionals from across Asia for practical learning spanning processing technology, product development and consumer insights.

BANGKOK, Sept. 18, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Tetra Pak, in collaboration with the Soy Excellence Center Asia, a U.S. Soybean Export Council (USSEC) initiative, hosted the Soy Food & Beverage Intermediate learning track from 15-17 September 2026 at Tetra Pak's Product Development Centre (PDC) in Rayong and Customer Innovation Centre (CIC) in Bangkok. The learning track brought together soy industry professionals from across Asia to strengthen their knowledge of soy beverage processing, formulation and consumer-led product development.

Asia Pacific accounts for 75% of the global plant-based beverage volume.[1] In many Western markets, plant-based beverages are commonly positioned as alternatives to dairy. Across many Asian markets, however soy has long been an established part of the beverage category alongside other plant-based drinks.

As consumer preferences evolve and the range of plant-based products expands, the challenge for soy beverage manufacturers is to bring new value to a familiar category. This can mean exploring and developing new taste and texture profiles, addressing different nutritional needs and creating products for new consumption occasions and formats.

Over three days, the learning track explored opportunities across the soy beverage value chain, from soybean variety and supplier selection to formulation, processing technology, sensory evaluation and consumer understanding. Technical sessions were combined with hands-on learning and an ideation workshop, where participants developed soy beverage concepts tailored to specific consumer groups.

Sherry Chen, Center Lead, Soy Excellence Center Asia, said: "Growing the soy food and beverage category starts with understanding how decisions across the value chain, from soybean selection to processing and formulation, shape product quality and the consumer experience. The Soy Excellence Center Asia gives participants a practical learning environment to strengthen their technical skills and apply that knowledge directly to product development. Our collaboration with Tetra Pak brings this learning to life with hands-on experience, giving learners deeper insights into processing, formulation and consumer needs. By combining technical expertise with real-world application, we are equipping participants with practical insights they can use to innovate, improve products, and drive growth in their markets."

Across Tetra Pak's innovation ecosystem, participants worked across both the Customer Innovation Centre (CIC) in Bangkok and the Product Development Centre (PDC) in Rayong to gain end-to-end insights into soy beverage innovation and production.

At the CIC, sessions focused on product and consumer-led innovation, exploring plant-based trends across Asia Pacific, Tetra Pak's customer innovation ecosystem, functional ingredients, fermentation technologies and the utilisation of okara.

At the PDC, participants took part in hands-on demonstrations across key stages of aseptic soy beverage production, including extraction, blending and UHT processing, aseptic filling, and food development. Tetra Pak specialists also shared expertise in production technologies, operational efficiency, troubleshooting, soy waste management and beverage formulation.

Sutthinun Taechathayanon, Customer Experience Manager APAC, Tetra Pak, said: "Soy is already familiar to consumers across many Asian markets, creating a strong foundation for further innovation. By combining consumer insights with formulation and processing expertise, producers can identify opportunities to enhance taste, texture, nutrition, and convenience while developing products that respond to changing consumer needs and consumption occasions. Through Tetra Pak's CIC Bangkok and PDC Rayong, soy manufacturers can explore new product ideas, conduct trials, and accelerate the journey from concept to commercialization with greater confidence and reduced risk. Our continued collaboration with USSEC helps translate knowledge from across the soy value chain into practical product development opportunities for the industry."

The Soy Food & Beverage Intermediate learning track course builds on the long-standing partnership between Tetra Pak and USSEC, combining USSEC's expertise across the soy value chain with Tetra Pak's expertise in processing and product development to support continued innovation across Asia Pacific's soy food and beverage industry.
