SCST to attend 20th Asian Games and support Hong Kong, China athletes
The Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, Miss Rosanna Law, will depart for Tokyo and Nagoya in Japan tomorrow morning (September 21) for the 20th Asian Games and show support for the Hong Kong, China Delegation.

Miss Law will meet with athletes at competition venues to learn about the situation of the Hong Kong, China Delegation. She will also watch competitions in which Hong Kong, China athletes participate.
Miss Law will return to Hong Kong on September 24. During her absence, the Under Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, Mr Raistlin Lau, will be the Acting Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Hong Kong Customs detects drug trafficking case involving incoming passenger at airport
Hong Kong Customs detected a drug trafficking case involving an incoming air passenger at Hong Kong International Airport today (September 20), and seized a total of about 13 kilograms of suspected ketamine with an estimated market value of about $4.7 million. A man was arrested.
A 22-year-old Japanese male passenger arrived in Hong Kong from Frankfurt, Germany today. During customs clearance, Customs officers found about 13kg of suspected ketamine inside his check-in suitcase. The man was subsequently arrested.
An investigation is ongoing.
Customs will continue to step up enforcement against drug trafficking activities through intelligence analysis. The department also reminds members of the public to stay alert and not to participate in drug trafficking activities for monetary return. They must not accept hiring or delegation from another party to carry controlled items into and out of Hong Kong. They are also reminded not to carry unknown items for other people.
Customs will continue to apply a risk assessment approach and focus on selecting passengers from high-risk regions for clearance to combat transnational drug trafficking activities.
Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, trafficking in a dangerous drug is a serious offence. The maximum penalty upon conviction is a fine of $5 million and life imprisonment.
