Creepy "Human Face" Found Hidden in Banyan Roots in Bustling Causeway Bay

A chilling discovery in bustling Causeway Bay has left social media users spooked, after a photo surfaced showing a closed-eye human face mask nestled among the tangled roots of a banyan tree on a stone wall behind the Moreton Terrace Bus Terminus. The image, shared on Threads, reveals the face almost seamlessly blended with the roots, its eyes shut, creating an eerie sight in one of Hong Kong’s busiest districts.

The Threads starter described the location as hidden and gloomy, saying it would be “quite terrifying at night.” After checking Google Street View, she discovered the mask has been there since at least June 2019, noting it was previously white but has now merged with the banyan tree, gradually being enveloped by the roots over time as if coexisting with the stone wall and the old tree.

Many netizens said they got goosebumps after zooming in on the photo. Some even joked that it was an “entrance to another world.”

BALTIMORE (AP) — Orioles manager Craig Albernaz is willing to go to great lengths to protect his face now.

Albernaz, who ended up with a broken jaw last month when he was hit by a foul ball, donned a glove and mask in the dugout Sunday after Pete Alonso sent another foul toward the bench area.

Albernaz first went and grabbed a glove. Then he put on a catcher's helmet and mask for a bit, drawing some laughs.

He said afterward that Athletics manager Mark Kotsay was egging him on.

“Alonso hit a ball that pretty much was really close to me, and almost hit me," Albernaz said. “I happened to look over at Kotsay, and he was laughing and he was telling me to put the mask on and stuff.”

The Orioles went on to beat the A's 2-1.
