In the news release, Basecamp Research raises $140M to advance AI-designed therapeutics, issued 23-Sep-2026 by Basecamp Research over PR Newswire, we are advised by the company that information has changed in the first bulleted subheadline and in the fourth paragraph. The complete, corrected release follows:

  • Oversubscribed Series C led by S32 with backing from NVIDIA, Menlo Ventures' Anthology Fund, Catalio Capital Management, European Tech Collective, Firebrand River Capital, Inception Fund, King Philanthropies, NATO Innovation Fund, PostScriptum, Redalpine, The Rockefeller Foundation, Singular, Sovereign AI, and True Ventures.
  • Funding will advance a pipeline of EDEN-designed therapeutics, starting with in vivo cell therapy, and expand pharmaceutical partnerships
  • The company has demonstrated strong preclinical results across multiple modalities and disease areas

LONDON and BOSTON, Sept. 23, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Basecamp Research, a frontier AI company developing AI-designed medicines, today announced a $140M Series C financing to train a new generation of EDEN models and advance a pipeline of AI-designed therapeutics towards clinical development.

Basecamp's ambition is to develop cures for diseases that remain incurable by designing medicines that reprogram the body to repair itself. The company combines frontier AI models trained on proprietary biological data with technology for writing DNA sequences into cells.

"We believe the future of medicine lies in reprogramming the body to repair itself. We design the models and the medicines to teach it how," said Glen Gowers, co-founder and CEO of Basecamp Research. "AI-based approaches promise to change what's possible for patients who currently have few alternatives. This funding brings this technology closer to those who need it most."

The oversubscribed round was led by S32, with participation from Menlo Ventures' Anthology Fund, Catalio Capital Management, European Tech Collective, Firebrand River Capital, Inception Fund, King Philanthropies, NATO Innovation Fund, NVIDIA, PostScriptum, Redalpine, The Rockefeller Foundation, Singular, Sovereign AI and True Ventures.

Additional investment comes from senior leaders from across pharma, biotech, and global industry, including André Hoffmann, Vice-Chairman of Roche, who said: "The biotechnology revolution that began fifty years ago transformed how we make medicines. Personalised, AI-designed therapeutics represent the next transformation of that journey. Basecamp Research has built the full platform to deliver it, from biological data to trained models to designed therapies. This will be key in helping the industry to continue to innovate."

Applying EDEN to develop new therapies

Basecamp Research is applying EDEN, its biological foundation model, to in vivo cell therapy – reprogramming a patient's cells inside the body. Today's cell therapies are limited both in the complexity of what they can deliver and by a manufacturing process that costs hundreds of thousands of dollars per patient.

By pairing EDEN's ability to design long and complex DNA sequences with large serine recombinases that can precisely integrate them into the genome, Basecamp's platform aims to underpin the future of cell therapies, making them more sophisticated, more customisable and simpler to administer. This has the potential to transform how we treat cancer, autoimmune disease, and more.

The company has demonstrated strong preclinical results across multiple modalities and disease areas. To expand its pharmaceutical partnerships, Basecamp has appointed Richard Pearce, formerly of Biogen, as Chief Business Officer.

Andy Conrad, General Partner at S32 and former CEO of Google's Verily, who joins the Board of Directors, said: "AI is opening up new possibilities across every part of society, but perhaps nowhere is the potential more meaningful than in human health. The ability to combine AI, biological data and scientific insight could transform how we understand disease, discover medicines and ultimately improve and extend people's lives. Basecamp Research is building an important technology platform at the center of that opportunity."

The AI and data powering Basecamp Research's therapies

At the centre of Basecamp Research's AI platform is the Trillion Gene Atlas, the world's largest proprietary biological AI training dataset. Built with partners including NVIDIA, Anthropic, PacBio and Ultima Genomics, the Atlas draws on biological data collected through access and benefit-sharing partnerships in more than 30 countries across all seven continents.

Trained on this data, the company's EDEN models recognise patterns across a huge breadth of previously unseen biology. Unlike AI systems developed for a single scientific task, EDEN models aim to deliver a universal understanding of how DNA works across all of life.

This means that the models can generate potential therapeutic candidates directly from information about a disease, an approach already demonstrated through Basecamp's collaboration with Anthropic on Claude Science. The EDEN models' capabilities include designing cell and gene therapies, enzymes and peptides.

The brand will also title two Sand Hollow trails and showcase its two new innovative auto devices — the FlexPilot mirror dash cam and NomadPixel 5, the world's first programmable off-road pixel lighting system.

HURRICANE, Utah, Sept. 25, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Wolfbox, a leader in off-road dash cams and automotive electronics, will debut its Blockout Challenge at the 11th Annual Monster Energy Trail Hero Event powered by Greater Zion. The weeklong event takes place Sept. 28 through Oct. 3 in Hurricane, Utah.

During the challenge, drivers will tackle a closed obstacle course with all exterior views blocked, relying solely on the Wolfbox FlexPilot camera system to navigate the terrain. The top eight teams will advance to a final at The Chute, one of Sand Hollow's most recognizable rock-crawling obstacles.

Wolfbox will also serve as sponsor of the Wolfbox Top of the World Trail and Wolfbox The Fallen Trail, meet visitors at two event locations, and unveil the new NomadPixel 5 off-road pixel lighting system during one Night Ride on the Wolfbox Top of the World Trail.

"Trail Hero isn't where equipment gets admired from a distance — participants are on actual terrain where visibility, judgment and trust really matter," a Wolfbox representative said.

"The Wolfbox Blockout Challenge gives drivers and spectators a memorable way to see what FlexPilot can do, and also reflects something larger about this community. Nobody takes on these trails entirely alone — drivers rely on spotters, guides, teammates and equipment. It's the idea behind Wolfbox's theme for this year's event: The Trail Makes Heroes | Heroes Are Made Together."

Putting FlexPilot to the Test

Qualifying rounds for the Wolfbox Blockout Challenge run from 1 to 4 p.m. on Oct. 1 and 2, with 10 teams competing each day on a scored obstacle course; the top eight advance to the Oct. 3 final at The Chute. During the Oct. 1 and 2 afternoon sessions, members of the public can ride shotgun with a Wolfbox driver to experience the challenge firsthand.

FlexPilot replaces a vehicle's rearview mirror with a bright touchscreen fed by up to four cameras: sharp 4K views at the front and rear, plus two additional cameras that can be positioned inside the cab, along the flanks or low on the body to provide multi-angle visibility of terrain and obstacles around the vehicle. At Sand Hollow, steep climbs and red-rock obstacles can block a driver's view of the tires and terrain immediately ahead, making the location a proving ground for the FlexPilot.

From Scenic Trails to Technical Terrain

Wolfbox's two sponsored trails represent very different sides of the Sand Hollow experience. The Level 4 Wolfbox Top of the World Trail offers panoramic overlooks of the surrounding red-rock cliffs and reservoir, and includes the special Thursday Night Run on Oct. 1 for up to 30 vehicles. The Level 9 Wolfbox The Fallen Trail, built by local veterans in memory of fallen service members, is known for its extreme rock gardens and near-vertical rock face.

Wolfbox will also sponsor 250 Trail Guide T-shirts worn by volunteer guides throughout the event, creating strong on-trail visibility while recognizing the volunteers who help lead and support participants. Wolfbox representatives and trail guides will meet drivers at both trailheads, where participants can also learn about the brand's off-road product lineup through interactive QR codes placed at landmark stops.

Up Close With Wolfbox Products

Trail Hero will also see Wolfbox debut its new NomadPixel 5 off-road pixel lighting system, the world's first off-road auxiliary driving lights with programmable pixel displays. Drivers can customize text, graphics and animated content from their phones and project it outdoors with 8,850 raw lumens of illumination from each of the two five-inch lights.

Visitors can check out Wolfbox products at the brand's Washington County Fairgrounds Vendor Show booth, where a FlexPilot-equipped display vehicle will be on display alongside hands-on product demonstrations and giveaways. Guests who share their Wolfbox experience on social media will also have the opportunity to receive limited-edition gifts.

A second Wolfbox display will be set up at the Water Tank parking lot from Sept. 29 through Oct. 3, beside the Blockout Challenge course and near the Top of the World trailhead.

A Continuing Trail Hero Partnership

Wolfbox's Trail Hero partnership extends beyond the event. In May, the brand served as title sponsor of Trail Hero Expeditions Season Two, a six-episode overlanding series filmed across Nevada, Arizona, and Utah. Season Two is scheduled to air in October on SPEED SPORT 1, Amazon Prime Video, and other streaming platforms.

Trail Hero also marks the official kickoff of Wolfbox's seventh anniversary campaign, which runs throughout October under the theme "SHIFT INTO 7TH — Miles to go. More to explore."

Through its partnership with Trail Hero, Wolfbox continues to support the off-road community while strengthening charitable connections across the industry. This commitment has long been central to the brand and connects to Trail Hero's broader work with organizations including 4 Wheel to Heal, the Utah Public Lands Alliance, and the Utah 4 Wheel Drive Association, which help protect motorized access to public lands and create meaningful outdoor experiences for veterans, children with special needs, and the wider trail community.

Find Wolfbox at:

  • Booth D5–D7 at the Washington County Fairgrounds from 3 to 7 p.m., Oct. 1–3
  • The Water Tank parking lot from Sept. 29 through Oct. 3

Blockout Challenge qualifiers run Oct. 1–2, with the final at The Chute on Oct. 3.

Between Sept. 26 and Oct. 4, Wolfbox customers can receive an extra $15 off orders over $100 by using code TRAILHERO15 on the Wolfbox website.
