Hospital Authority Reviews Yan Chai Hospital’s Decades of Service in Tsuen Wan, from A&E to Breast Centre

The Hospital Authority (HA) noted that Yan Chai Hospital has been rooted in Tsuen Wan for decades, maintaining close ties with residents in the district. The hospital began providing 24-hour accident and emergency services in 1994, helped resolve the "tainted pork" crisis in 1998, and established its Wellness Clinic for Breast Disease in 2008, continuously expanding its services in a dedicated effort to safeguard the health of every resident.

The HA pointed out that since preparations for the hospital began in the 1960s, Yan Chai Hospital has upheld its mission of "Serving the Community in the Spirit of Benevolence." To raise funds for its construction, the hospital once organised a "$1 Charity Raffle," with a floor of a building as the grand prize. The reform of its nursing uniforms was designed by the renowned fashion designer Eddie Lau.
