China Coast Guard (CCG) on Tuesday conducted routine law-enforcement patrols in the waters east of China's Taiwan Island in accordance with the law, said Jiang Lue, spokesperson for the CCG.
Since the beginning of September, the Zhujiajian Ship Formation of the CCG has continuously strengthened control over the relevant sea areas, effectively safeguarding normal navigation and operational order, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests, as well as the lives and property, of Chinese citizens, including Taiwan compatriots.
The CCG will continue to strengthen law enforcement patrols in China's jurisdictional waters and resolutely uphold national territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests.

Kim Son Gyong, vice minister of foreign affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), on Monday slammed Japan's military expansion, warning that the move is posing a grave challenge for global peace.
Speaking at the General Debate of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, Kim said Japan is taking advantage of international turbulence to speed up its attempts at rearmament, including the plans of the revision of the Peace Constitution, the abandonment the "exclusively defense-oriented policy", and reformation of arms build-up.
Under the signboard of "counterattack capability," Japan attempts to develop and posse long-range attack weapons, which put neighboring countries within a striking range, Kim said, adding that this ambition runs counter to Japan's obligations as a defeated nation of World War II and represents a shameless disregard of the UN Charter.
The General Debate of the UNGA 81st session of concluded on Monday. A total of 194 delegations took part in the debate, with speakers including 113 heads of state and government, one crown prince, 11 vice presidents, seven deputy prime ministers and 48 ministers.
