CCIDA sponsors industry participation in China International Comics Festival Expo

The Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency (CCIDA) under the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau sponsored the Hong Kong Digital Entertainment Association to lead an industry delegation to participate in the China International Comics Festival Expo (CICF Expo) held in Guangzhou from today (October 2) to October 5. The Hong Kong Pavilion is set up at the CICF Expo to showcase art toys, games, animation, comics, as well as merchandise and spin-offs derived from cultural intellectual properties (IPs), fully demonstrating the creative capabilities and commercial potential of Hong Kong's digital entertainment industry.

This marks the second consecutive year that CCIDA sponsors the project, with a total of 16 Hong Kong enterprises participating this year. The Hong Kong Pavilion, themed "Designer Toy, Game, Animation and Comics", features a range of immersive and interactive experiences, including stage interactions with original IP characters, game demos, and live drawing sessions by renowned comic artists. The pavilion also introduces for the first time a smart guide system to enhance visitors' experience, allowing them to easily access information on company profiles, project backgrounds, creative concepts and key highlights. By participating in the CICF Expo, the Hong Kong industry not only showcases its diverse creative capabilities but also actively promotes its works to the Greater Bay Area, bridging creative resources and achieving complementary industrial strengths between the Hong Kong and Chinese Mainland markets.

As one of the most prestigious and influential animation and game exhibitions in the Greater Bay Area, the CICF Expo is expected to showcase over 1 000 brands with over 7 000 types of merchandise this year, attracting over 450 000 visits and interactive engagements on-site.
