Employer fined for violation of safety legislation

A worker, while performing tree pruning, fell about 1.2 metres from the top of a parapet wall at the car park of the building to the floor, and sustained a head injury. He was sent to hospital in a conscious state and passed away two weeks later.

LegCo to joint debate on Hong Kong's First Five-Year Plan and Policy Address

The Legislative Council (LegCo) will hold a meeting on Wednesday (October 7), Thursday (October 8) and Friday (October 9) at 9am in the Chamber of the LegCo Complex. During the meeting, Members will commence a joint debate on the motion on the First Five-Year Plan for Economic and Social Development of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (2026-2030) (Hong Kong's First Five-Year Plan) and the motion on the Chief Executive's 2026 Policy Address. The Government motion on the Hong Kong's First Five-Year Plan, to be moved by the Chief Secretary for Administration, is set out in the Appendix; The "Motion of Thanks", to be moved by Mr Chan Chun-ying, states: "That this Council thanks the Chief Executive for his address."
