“At General Mills, our people are at the heart of our success,” said Jacqueline Williams-Roll, Chief Human Resources Officer at General Mills. “We invest in their growth and development, take a whole-person approach to well-being, and work every day to build a culture where everyone feels they belong and can do their best work. Our ambition is to be the best place to grow a career, and we’re proud of our progress.”

The World’s Best Employers were selected based on an independent survey of more than 300,000 employees across 50 countries working for multinational companies with at least 1,000 workers. The final list recognizes the top 900 companies globally. The evaluation asked participants to rate their willingness to recommend their own employers to friends and family, and evaluated the company on criteria including benefits, talent development and career advancement, work-life balance and company reputation.

This recognition adds to General Mills’ growing list of employer-related accolades, including being named to 3BL’s 100 Best Corporate Citizens 2026 list and Newsweek’s America’s Most Responsible Companies 2026.

MIAMI (AP) — Tropical Storm Isaias formed early Wednesday in the warm waters off eastern Mexico and forecasters said it was expected to strengthen into the first hurricane of the Atlantic season before hitting the U.S. Gulf Coast later in the week.

Isaias was centered about 285 miles (460 kilometers) west of Progreso, Mexico, and about 580 miles (935 kilometers) southwest of the Mississippi River’s mouth, according to the Miami-based National Hurricane Center. It had maximum sustained winds of 40 mph (65 kph) and was moving east-northeast at 8 mph (13 kph).

It was not immediately known where the storm may make landfall on the Gulf Coast. The hurricane center’s initial projections said the center of Isaias could come onshore late Friday or early Saturday somewhere between eastern Louisiana and the western Florida Panhandle. People in those areas were urged to prepare for the storm.

“There is an increasing risk of dangerous wind and storm surge impacts along portions of the northern Gulf Coast,” the hurricane center said. “Residents from Louisiana to the Florida Panhandle should closely monitor the latest forecast updates and ensure they have their hurricane plan in place.”

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis declared a state of emergency for 25 counties in the Panhandle and Big Bend regions. The declaration activates the state's emergency management plan to prepare for hurricanes and other potential natural disasters, allowing actions including the deployment of personnel and equipment to respond.

Isaias, pronounced ees-ah-EE-ahs according to the hurricane center, is expected to bring areas of heavy rain to portions of the Gulf Coast and much of the U.S. Southeast on Friday and into the weekend, forecasters said.

The storm comes as the Atlantic hurricane season has been unusually quiet this year due to a strong El Niño, which disrupts storm formation over that ocean. Storm activity in the Pacific has been above average.
